No. The extension is event-driven and idle by default — it only wakes up when you click the icon or when a scheduled quiz is due.
You sign in with Google in one tap. Your progress and settings are saved to your LingoPop account, so they're there whenever you sign in; the extension keeps only a small local cache. LingoPop doesn't read the pages you visit, and you can delete your account and all its data from Settings at any time.
